Submission deadlines You are expected to submit your thesis before the end of your final year of registration. The writing-up period is known as submission pending. Submission pending is different to deadline extensions.

This web page describes the required submission process for your thesis or dissertation. Every term has firm deadlines related to each part of the thesis and dissertation submission process. The instructions for meeting these deadlines are described in chronological order below. You can view the deadlines for each upcoming graduation term on.Extension to dissertation submission deadline - for postgraduate taught students If you are unable to complete your dissertation by your current submission deadline, you can apply for an extension. Due to the current restricted campus operations, applications should be sent electronically. You should submit your thesis by the end of your maximum period of registration or if a resubmission, by your resubmission deadline. Extending your thesis submission deadline. If you are unable to submit by your deadline, you can apply for an extension.
An Intention to Submit form is required by the Graduate School to confirm that you are ready to submit your thesis within three months of the date stated on your form or by your expected submission date (whichever date is sooner). The form should be submitted to the Graduate School about 3 months.
If you do not submit your thesis by the deadline, and you need to extend registration into the next academic session, the following fee implications will apply: Submission in Autumn Trimester - 33% of full year’s fee payable. Submission in Spring Trimester - 67% of full year’s fee payable.
Attending Congregation. Please note: if you wish to attend congregation, you will need to register for the ceremony by the registration deadline (available from the Ceremonies webpages below), and you will need to have uploaded your final thesis and received your pass list by pass list deadline.
E-thesis Submission for Examination Deadlines. Students with a July start date, the deadline is Fri 5th July 2019, 12.30 pm; Students with an October start date, the deadline is Fri 4th October 2019, 12.30 pm; Students with a January start date, the deadline is Fri 3rd January 2020, 12.30 pm; Students with an April start date, the deadline is Fri 3rd April 2020, 12.30 pm.
The submission of the work in an electronic form has a number of potential advantages, including greater flexibility for the inclusion of multimedia components, and cost savings on paper. UK electronic theses and dissertations are available as a stand-alone database.
Final submissions are due to ProQuest by the deadlines below. These deadlines are firm. Spring 2020. Final Deadline: Friday, May 15, 3:00 p.m. Summer 2020. Final Deadline: Friday, August 7, 3:00 p.m. Final copies must meet the required formatting standards as shown in the formatting template. Incorrectly formatted final copies cannot be accepted.
Deadlines. The deadline for submission of dissertations, if you wish to have your degree conferred at the end of the quarter, is published in the Academic calendar; specific dates are posted on our main dissertation page. Some departments may set earlier deadlines for submission of dissertations. Dissertation deadlines are strictly enforced.
